One of Alberta’s most recognizable roadside attractions will be at the centre of community celebrations in Mundare this weekend.
Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage is marking the 25th anniversary of the World’s Largest Sausage with a community BBQ during Mundare Agri-Days on Aug. 15.
The massive sausage was completed and erected in 2001 as a tribute to Stawnichy’s, the family-owned business that has been producing its famous Ukrainian sausage since 1959.
Proceeds from the community BBQ will support the Edward E. Stawnichy Charitable Foundation, which provides scholarships and supports community initiatives in Mundare and the surrounding area.
