The fire, reported near the train lines off Bourne Road in Pangbourne around 3.26pm on Tuesday, 11 August, is believed to be a grassland fire in the open but this has not yet been confirmed. A spokesman for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 3:26pm on Tuesday, 11 August, we received reports of a fire near Bourne Road in Pangbourne. "Crews remain at the scene at this time." Photos from the scene show thick smoke rising from near the railway tracks. Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale Fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and a crew from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
