ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2026) The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has said that the new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH is expected to be born on August 12, 2026 at 22:37 PST. Based on these astronomical parameters, the crescent of Rabi-ul-Awwal is not expected to be sighted with the naked eye or through a telescope on the evening of August 13, SUPARCO said. Consequently, the first of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH is anticipated to fall on Saturday, August 15, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Safar. However, the final decision regarding the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal crescent and commencement of the new Islamic month will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan.
