Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) placed Greater Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal under green alert on Tuesday due to a tropical wave expected to produce rain across several parts of the Dominican Republic. The heaviest rainfall is forecast for these areas during the afternoon, with moderate to heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Rain is also expected in La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, La Romana, Monte Plata, San José de Ocoa and other provinces. Meanwhile, the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) is monitoring three atmospheric disturbances in the Atlantic. Indomet is also monitoring a disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave about 600 miles east of the Windward Islands, as well as a low-pressure trough several hundred miles northeast of Bermuda producing showers and thunderstorms.
