Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Tuesday assured people that there is no need for apprehension over lands listed under the Prohibited Assets (POB) or Section 22-A category, stating that genuine and legally eligible cases would be resolved on priority. Steps were also being taken to provide Sub-Registrars access to Pahanis and other land records. Ponguleti directed Sub-Registrars not to exercise discretionary powers beyond the online system and warned of strict action for any lapse involving government properties. Instead of mechanically rejecting registrations involving POB properties,officials must examineeach case for three days and cite specific reasons for rejection. He made it clear that there would be zero tolerance for deliberate actions under Section 22-A that cause hardship to poor and genuine property owners.
