The Jasper Board of Public Works and Safety met Tuesday, August 11, 2026, for its regular meeting. Jasper Police Chief Chad Dick presented the department’s July monthly report to the Board of Public Works and Safety on Tuesday. The board also accepted a separate resignation from Chase Spears of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department, effective 31 August 2026. Spears joined the fire department two years ago while still completing college and has since taken local employment in Jasper. The board also approved a request to use the labyrinth on the Riverwalk for a volunteer meditation group meeting.
