ICMR-NIN launches SHINE Programme 2026 for school childrenThe ICMR-NIN has launched SHINE Programme 2026, a two-day outreach initiative for school children. Around 800 students from nine schools participated in the initiative, which was inaugurated by Director, NIN, Dr Bharati Kulkarni at the ICMR-NIN campus. School children are also participating in SHINE activities at Model Rural Health Research Units (MRHRUs) at Janampet, Mahbubnagar, Telangana and Chandragiri, Andhra Pradesh. The programme features a range of interactive exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities designed to make science engaging and accessible to young learners. Key attractions include nutrition games, diet surveys and demonstrations of home-based techniques for detection of food adulteration, among others.
