Residents noticed a large emergency presence on Higher Street, Bradpole, early this morning, after the alarm was raised just before 8am. A man was found unresponsive near to the River Asker. Dorset Police has since confirmed a man, aged in his 30s, died at the scene. A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 7.57am on Tuesday, August 11, that a man had been found unresponsive near to the River Asker in the area of Higher Street in Bridport. “Emergency services attended and very sadly it was confirmed that the man, aged in his 30s, was deceased.
