Brahmapur: A court in Odisha’s Ganjam district Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his 28-year-old wife by setting her on fire around four years ago, a government lawyer said. The woman died December 23, 2022 in Khurda hospital during treatment. According to the prosecution, the couple frequently quarrelled after their marriage, while the deceased’s in-laws demanded dowry. The accused poured kerosene on her wife and set on fire October 11, 2022. After registering a case, Kabisurya Nagar police had arrested the convict along with the deceased’s mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
