Bengaluru: Two migrant workers were killed after a portion of soil caved in at an underpass construction site being executed by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) near the Dr Rajkumar Samadhi on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Parimal, 31, from West Bengal, and Sonaram, 26, from Odisha, Bengaluru North Division DCP B.S. Nemagowda said.Five workers were present at the site when the soil suddenly gave way. Three other workers — Sadanand, Sunil and Imtiyaz, from Jharkhand and West Bengal — sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment. The MLA demanded accountability from those responsible for ensuring safety at the construction site and urged authorities to take immediate measures to prevent similar accidents.
