"The products bear valid Standardization Marks and continue to meet the prescribed requirements for quality, safety, and labelling," the Bureau stated.
KEBS confirmed it is actively engaging the Rwanda FDA and other regional regulatory authorities to determine what prompted the suspension and to work towards a technical resolution through established EAC channels.
"The Bureau remains committed to protecting consumers, facilitating fair trade, and maintaining confidence in Kenyan products both domestically and across the East African Community," the statement read.
As of the time of publication, the Rwanda FDA had not issued any further comment on the suspension or responded publicly to the findings presented by KEBS.
