The death toll from a missile strike by Yemen’s Houthi rebels from the Ansar Allah movement on the commercial vessel Tihama in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait has risen to six, with another 10 people injured, the Yemeni Coast Guard said. The 10 injured include seven crew members, two coast guard personnel and one serviceman. The coast guard said that the losses among security personnel resulted from a second Houthi missile strike launched during the crew’s evacuation. About three hours after the attack, the rebels sent an explosive-laden unmanned boat toward the vessel, but Yemeni forces intercepted and destroyed it. On July 20, the Houthis announced a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia and subsequently attacked several Saudi oil tankers.
