A bid to overturn the refusal of controversial short-term lets in the heart of Inverness has been thrown out by councillors. DC Properties had applied for a review of Highland Council’s decision to reject a planning application to convert a former office building on Ardconnel Terrace, in the Crown, into 10 short-term lets. They also claimed that wider trends over short-term lets in Inverness should not be taken into account, as the city is not currently subject to any short term let control area. The decision sparked relief from residents, who branded it a “great win for the community” and an “important moment” for the local area. However, that rejection did not signal the end of the proposals, with the developer subsequently seeking a review of the decision through Highland Council’s planning review body.
