+ ↺ − 16 pxA 54-year-old man has been charged over an alleged bomb threat targeting the U.S. Consulate in Halifax, which prompted the closure and evacuation of several downtown streets on Monday. Halifax Regional Police announced Tuesday morning they laid charges of uttering threats and public mischief against the man. A news release from Halifax Regional Police said investigators became aware of a bomb threat that was received by the U.S. Consulate located in Purdy’s Wharf on Upper Water Street in Halifax on Sunday at 6:15 p.m. The release said police identified the man who made the threat and began efforts to locate him. Around 8:10 a.m. Monday, officers found the man’s vehicle in the Purdy’s Wharf parkade.
