SRINAGAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir has taken swift disciplinary action against Er.
Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, district president of BJP Pulwama, following the registration of an FIR alleging extortion and criminal intimidation.
According to the suspension order issued by BJP J&K State General Secretary and National Council Member Mohammad Anwar Khan, the decision was made on the recommendation of the party’s Disciplinary Committee Chairman, Sunil Sethi, and in consultation with BJP J&K president Sat Sharma.
The order states that Andrabi is relieved of all organisational duties, including his role as district president, Pulwama, with immediate effect while the inquiry is underway.
J&K Police have booked Andrabi for alleged extortion and criminal intimidation of contractor Mohammad Yaseen Ganie.
