FURY has been sparked among customers after one was asked to leave a tip on a gift card purchase. On social media, a Chicken Salad Chick customer shared that she was asked to leave an 18% to 22% tip on a $50 gift card purchase. The customer tried to explain that they didn’t want to tip because the gift card recipient would also be asked to tip when they use it. They wrote in the Reddit post: “But the manager said: ‘I don’t think it asks for a tip when you pay with a gift card, maybe it does.'” In the comments, many took issue with the manager doubling down on the tip request, saying they should “Just say no”.
