The body of a young teen who went missing on Aug. 8 has been recovered from Cultus Lake, B.C., according to RCMP. The 13-year-old was last seen entering the waters of Cultus Lake on Aug. 8 around 1:20 p.m., and her body was found just before 2 p.m. on Aug. 10. RCMP says the investigation has now been turned over to the BC Coroners Service. The teen was reportedly floating on a paddleboard when it is believed she suffered a medical emergency. “A non-fatal drowning may result in brain or other organ damage, ranging from mild to severe effects, including hypoxic brain injury due to lack of oxygen.
