Pajar Canada has acquired Grendene Global Brands USA, parent of the Melissa brand in the U.S. market, for $3.6 million. Pajar, the 63-year-old company, will now assume responsibility for the distribution and commercial management of Melissa and Mini Melissa stateside. “We are incredibly proud to welcome the Melissa business into the Pajar family,” said Michel Golbert, president of Pajar Canada. “Melissa is one of the most creative and recognizable footwear brands in the world, and we are honored that Grendene has entrusted us with the responsibility of representing and growing Melissa and Mini Melissa in the United States. Pajar is a five-generation family business led by CEO Jacques Golbert and his sons, Michael and David, who are preisdent and vice president respectively.
