Health officials said they recorded 756 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours till yesterday morning. “During the period, 80 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 89 in Chattogram division, 158 in Dhaka division, 106 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 110 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 101 in Khulna division, 27 in Mymensingh division, 63 in Rajshahi division, 17 in Rangpur division and five in Sylhet division,” said a statement of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The country has recorded 61 dengue-related deaths so far this year. Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 1,02,861 people, while 575 people died and 1,01,214 were infected in 2024.
