Posted by: Horseed Staff Gedo, Somalia — The former Jubaland security minister and former National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) chief for Gedo region has announced that he has rejoined the Jubaland administration following talks with the government of Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam, known as Ahmed Madobe.
11 August, 2026Abdirashid Janan made the announcement on Tuesday while addressing troops in Gedo.
He said he and Jubaland officials had reached an understanding over differences that had previously divided the two sides.
He said his decision was part of efforts to bring together forces and political actors who had previously been divided over the administration and security of Gedo region.
