Following a Commonwealth Games that saw Kyle Chalmers surpass fellow Australian superstar Ian Thorpe as the nation’s most successful male at the Commonwealth Games with 12 medals, Chalmers hinted that there is a chance that he may not pursue the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Chalmers finished 3rd in his signature event of the 100 free at the Commonwealth Games, behind fellow countryman Flynn Southam, and Matt Richards of Wales.
It was the first time that Chalmers had lost the 100 free to a fellow Australian in the Commonwealth Games final in his career.
