Jibaratnam of Gaudatalasingh village under Sabara panchayat in Gosani block of Gajapati district has given a new lease of life to others through organ donation after his death. Following his death, his heart, liver, kidneys and other vital organs were retrieved for transplantation, potentially saving multiple lives. The Andhra Pradesh Government reportedly honoured the family with an appreciation certificate, while hospital authorities paid tribute to Jibaratnam for his noble gesture. Jibaratnam, a carpenter by profession, belonged to a poor family and is survived by his wife, a young son and a daughter. Though his untimely death has left his family and villagers grief-stricken, Jibaratnam’s decision to donate his organs has transformed his loss into a gift of life for others.
