Assam Cabinet Approves Rs 2,100 Crore For Guwahati Satellite City Project

NET Web DeskGuwahati, August 11: The Assam Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has granted formal administrative approval to utilise ₹2,100 crore for land acquisition and site development for the proposed Aerotropolis Satellite City Project in Guwahati.
The amount, earmarked under Grant No.
73 in the 2026–27 Assam Budget, will be deployed primarily for acquiring land and undertaking initial development works.
The project will be implemented by the Guwahati Satellite Cities Development Authority (GSCDA).
The approval marks the largest infrastructure‑related decision in the latest Cabinet meeting and is expected to give a major financial push to the Aerotropolis initiative, aimed at expanding Guwahati’s urban footprint beyond its existing core areas.
