Garlic lovers will have plenty to sink their teeth into this weekend, with a longtime Comox Valley festival celebrating the pungent crop. The 15th annual Garlic Fest is set for Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Big Yellow Merville Hall, where garlic growers will gather to sell their seasonal harvest. Visitors can browse and buy garlic while taking in live entertainment, with garlic bread aromas coming from the hall’s kitchen. The Big Yellow Merville Hall is located at the corner of the Old Island Highway and Fenwick Road. The Victoria event will feature dozens of food and artisan vendors, with a focus on pickles, fermented foods and other bold flavours.
