Mona McSharry surged into the 100m breaststroke final at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. The bronze medal winner in the 100m breaststroke at the 2024 Olympics, also in Paris, McSharry has had a solid summer before these championships. In June McSharry won gold in the 200m, silver in the 100m and bronze in the 50m breaststroke events at the prestigious Sette Colli meet in Rome. Earlier this year, McSharry - who has finished her studies at the University of Tennessee - won the 100m, 200m and 50m breaststroke events at the Irish Open. Later in the week, she is also scheduled to compete in the 200m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke events.
