Cumbria Police's traffic management site reported an earlier accident on the A69 at Aglionby between the B6263 and Scotby Road, near Warwick-on-Eden. The incident was first reported at 3.38 pm, according to the AA live map. An update issued at 5.30 pm said traffic was easing in the area following the incident. However, commuters have reported Stagecoach are diverting 685 buses via A689 past Carlisle Airport. It is believed that the emergency services are at the scene and the Great North Air Ambulance was in attendance.
