The World Bank said approximately 39 percent of the affected households are tenants, 37 percent depend on daily-wage labour and eight percent are small farmers. World Bank Country Director Boloromaa Amgaabazar expressed concern over the decision and also raised issues regarding the handling of allegations and cases involving fraud and corruption within the programme. The World Bank also highlighted the scale of complaints registered by affected households. Such evidence, it said, should be shared with the World Bank for review. The World Bank warned that excluding verified and eligible households could have consequences extending well beyond the immediate loss of housing assistance.
