Emergency services, including a coastguard helicopter unit, were dispatched to Edinburgh’s Cramond Island on Tuesday after an elderly woman sustained injuries in a fall. The woman was discovered injured late on Tuesday morning, and a Coastguard helicopter was dispatched to assist at the remote spot. The woman, in her 70s, was airlifted to safety and rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by the Scottish Ambulance Service. “An HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Helicopter was sent, along with Coastguard Rescue Teams from Fisherrow and South Queensferry, and the person was airlifted and put into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service.” A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 11.04 hours today to attend an incident at Cramond Island.
