Kane Parson's Backrooms became one of the juggernauts of this year's movie box-office - much to everyone's surprise and delight. However, amidst all this extraordinary success, one wouldn't be amiss to forget Backrooms' humble internet origins. As a result, Jeff the Killer reached astronomical levels of fame online, becoming one of the biggest faces of the Creepypasta community. In 2025, she co-wrote, directed, and starred in a short horror film, Funny Bunny, about a babysitter's concern about a child's attachment to a stuffed bunny. Backrooms'success leading to more internet horror adaptations was inevitable, but it certainly went a lot better than the previous attempt with Slender Man (2018).
