Montreal police are investigating a second suspected arson at the same residence in less than two months in the city’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough. When officers arrived, they spoke with witnesses who said they saw a suspect throw an object toward the parked vehicle, which then caught fire. A witness told CityNews they heard a loud crash that sounded like glass breaking, then saw flames coming from the back of the neighbour’s car. Firefighters brought the fire under control, and the vehicle was towed for analysis by the SPVM’s arson unit. On Aug. 17, a fire also broke out at the same address, damaging the front doors of two homes.
