A Saturday evening fishing trip turned deadly for a Dexter family. Donald Jones Sr., 62, of Dexter and his 62-year-old wife were fishing on the western bank of the St. Francis River, which is in Butler County, when they were struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Venture being driven westbound by a Qulin male, age 21. Jones was pronounced dead at 7:41 p.m. by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers and is the 34th fatality in Highway Patrol Troop E.According to the patrol report, the accident was on County Road 228, four miles east of Fagus. The woman was seriously injured and taken by Air Evac to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Another family member was with the Joneses.
