Mate has more than two decades of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, innovation and health system transformation in the US and internationally. His board and advisory roles have included MLK Community Health System, Healthcare Excellence Canada and the Center for Care Innovations. Blue Shield of California Board Chair Pamela DeCoste said Mate’s background as a physician, healthcare executive and innovator would bring valuable experience to the board.
