The presentation of the new volume by Basilio Purita entitled «Favelloni. Church and people on the journey through history.” The event recorded a large participation of citizens and local history enthusiasts, eager to rediscover the cultural and religious roots of the community (from the figure of San Filippo d’Agira, to how the town was born and grew over the centuries, from the earthquakes that occurred in 1783 and 1905). A meeting full of ideas, perfectly summarized by a reflection reported in the evening’s poster: «It is the sense of belonging or identity that makes me love “my” country, which I consider as my “homeland”, and I love as one loves a father and a mother, however poor or modest they may be». The works were moderated by Francesco Iannello, journalist from the Gazzetta del Sud, who introduced the institutional and religious greetings edited by Don Piero Furci (Vicar of the Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera-Tropea) and by Don Francesco Colaci (Parish of Favelloni).
