A man was shot dead on Rawalpindi’s Mall Road on Tuesday after allegedly opening fire on security personnel, police said. Rawalpindi police identified the man as Muhammad Hussain and said he was killed in retaliatory firing. Meanwhile, PTV News, citing security sources, reported that Hussain was a resident of Khyber district and an active PTI member. A PTI flag, weapons, and bullets were reportedly recovered from him. However, the allegations regarding the suspect’s political affiliation remain based on statements from police and security sources.
