Flt Sgt Hood has volunteered with SSAFA’s Salisbury Plain Serving Community Team for five years, balancing the role alongside her full-time RAF career. Flt Sgt Hood said: "Receiving this award means a great deal to me, especially as it came at a time when I really needed it. SSAFA has extended its "heartfelt congratulations" to Flt Sgt Hood on receiving the Sir James Gildea Global Volunteer Award.
