Publican Jason Schinkel has taken over the running of The Railway Hotel. Originally built in the 1860s by Dorchester brewer Eldridge Pope, the hotel served passengers using Fordingbridge Railway Station on the long-defunct Salisbury and Dorset Railway line, which closed in 1964. The Railway Hotel has reopened after two years of restoration work. With its blend of heritage, hospitality and modern comforts, The Railway Hotel aims to become a destination for both residents and visitors to Fordingbridge.
