Albanian national Fation Kalemaj, 44, of no fixed abode, was charged with facilitating illegal immigration and appeared before Bradford Magistrates’ Court today (August 11) where he was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Bradford Crown Court on September 10. Following the arrests, all three were questioned by officers from the NCA and were charged with facilitation offences under section 25 of the Immigration Act (1971). A fourth man, Illia Prendi, 57, an Albanian national, was also charged with facilitation offences. Six people who were on board the boat were detained for immigration offences and dealt with by Immigration Enforcement. The six people detained for immigration offences are Albanian nationals.
