Rocket Lab has unveiled GHOST, a portable spaceport system designed to deploy launch operations around the world using transportable infrastructure stored inside standard shipping containers. According to Rocket Lab, the system was created after customers using the company’s HASTE vehicle requested a more mobile approach to launch operations. With GHOST, Rocket Lab is extending the idea of a launch network beyond traditional spaceports. The development also comes as Rocket Lab prepares for the future introduction of Neutron, a larger partially reusable rocket designed to compete in a different launch market.
