Traditionally contested between the champions of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup, the Champion of Champions serves as a symbolic curtain-raiser to the new domestic football season. The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League will officially get underway over the weekend of September 4–7, 2026. Nations FC have the FA Cup. On August 30, only one can leave Tarkwa as the Champion of Champions.
