Crab Street, at the junction with College Street, will remain shut until Friday, August 21. This closure is to allow for works being carried out by Cadent to replace old gas mains with new plastic pipes. Standish Street is also affected, with two-way traffic signals in place until August 31. A spokesperson for Cadent Gas said: "We’re replacing the old pipes with new plastic ones which will mean that you’ll be ready for greener gas in the future." Gas supply may be temporarily switched off during the works, and Cadent teams may need to access some properties in the area.
