NHC Tracking Two Systems in the Atlantic, One With High Chance of DevelopmentThe National Hurricane Center is monitoring two disturbances in the Atlantic this week, with one system showing a strong likelihood of strengthening into a tropical depression in the coming days. A tropical depression is likely to form during the latter half of this week as the system tracks westward to west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic. The NHC gives it a low, thirty per cent chance of development within forty-eight hours, rising to a high seventy per cent chance over the next seven days. The NHC gives this system a low, ten per cent chance of development both within forty-eight hours and over the next seven days. The NHC says it will continue to monitor both systems as the Atlantic hurricane season progresses.
