Santa Barbara Games, a new developer comprised of former Bethesda, Riot, EA, and other talent, has announced its first game: Voidwood, a 1-4-player fantasy co-op survival horror game with a decidedly Studio Ghibli-esque art style. Sound will play a key role in Voidwood, as players will communicate via proximity chat. Whispering is the way to go, and shouting...very much isn't, lest you attract the attention of The Beast. Which, maybe you do if you want to secure escape for three of you at the expense of the fourth player. There is meta progression in order to keep your character evolving over the course of days, weeks, and months of play.
