The works will include modernised ticket gates, colleague tablet devices and new interactive video help points.
The project combines modernised barriers with improved on-the-ground support to help keep passengers moving smoothly, as part of Transport for Wales’ (TfW) investment in station infrastructure.
Darren Haynes, Head of Customer Operations at Transport for Wales, said: “This investment across seven of our major stations will significantly improve daily station operations and enhance the passenger experience.
The introduction of Station Control Units, mounted tablet devices located at ticket gates, will give station teams an additional and more accessible way to operate barriers alongside the existing CAST mobile application.
The help points form part of a wider solution to support remote gate line operation, with the aim of providing assistance to customers quickly and efficiently.
