TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has been selected to host the 2027 MotoGP season launch, which will be held at Botafogo Beach on February 21, 2027. "The MotoGP Season Launch has become one of the defining moments of the year for our championship, bringing together every team, rider and manufacturer as we begin a new season," said MotoGP Group CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta in an official MotoGP statement on Tuesday. The launch of the 2026 MotoGP season in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is reported to have generated more than US$7 million in economic value. Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere said the event provides an opportunity for Rio to introduce the city to MotoGP fans worldwide. MotoGP will announce further details regarding the event lineup, fan activities, and media agenda for the launch of the 2027 season.
