TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) is deploying 1,147 personnel to secure the series of events commemorating the 81st Indonesian Independence Day. Paspampres Commander Major General Edwin Adrian Sumantha said his unit is responsible for protecting the president and VVIPs during the Independence Day events. Paspampres will utilize a variety of state-of-the-art defense equipment to secure the Independence Day events. On August 17, the day of Indonesia's Independence Day, Paspampres will be deployed to several locations.
