An S7 Airlines Boeing 737-800 freighter overran the runway while landing in Norilsk, Russia, marking the airline’s second 737 runway overrun in less than six weeks.
The Novosibirsk Transport Prosecutor’s Office said it is examining whether the airline complied with aviation safety requirements, while investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the overrun.
The incident comes less than six weeks after another S7 Boeing 737-800 overran a runway while landing at Mirny Airport (MJZ) in Russia’s Sakha Republic.
Russian transport prosecutors also opened an investigation following that incident.
S7 operates passenger Boeing 737-800s as well as a small fleet of 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters used for cargo operations.
