Wrexham have completed their third major signing of the summer window with just under a week remaining until the 2026/2027 EFL Championship season kicks off. Following the recent arrivals of full-back Danny Imray from Crystal Palace and midfielder Ben Whiteman from Preston North End, the Red Dragons have now secured the signature of goalkeeper Anthony Patterson from Premier League side Sunderland. "Wrexham really suits me in terms of what I want to do in my career, so it feels like a perfect fit," 26-year-old Patterson said. I want to play in the Premier League with Wrexham, and I think everything is in place and ready for the Club to do that. Exactly where this signing leaves Nigerian international Okonkwo - who had become something of a fan favorite over the last few seasons - and Welsh international Ward remains unclear.
