Mesoscale Discussion 1924 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1112 AM CDT Tue Aug 11 2026 Areas affected...southeast Indiana into west-central and southwest Ohio Concerning...Severe potential...Watch likely Valid 111612Z - 111715Z Probability of Watch Issuance...80 percent SUMMARY...The threat for severe weather is expected to increase by early afternoon, likely requiring a new severe thunderstorm watch.
DISCUSSION...Recent trends in base velocity data indicate a strengthening cold pool with the leading edge of thunderstorms near Marion, IN.
That convection is located to the north of an outflow boundary stretching from northwest through southeast IN.
As such, it appears likely that the above-mentioned storms will continue to spread southeast into the discussion area within the next hour or so.
