Two businesses under investigation after 15-year-old allowed to use sunbed shop

As part of the operation, a 15-year-old volunteer entered each premises and attempted to buy a sunbed session.
Those compliant businesses will now receive letters from Lancaster City Council congratulating them on their robust checks and supporting the continued enforcement of age restrictions.
Councillor Paul Hart, the Lancaster City Council member with responsibility for environmental health, praised the majority of operators but voiced concern about the failures identified.
However, it is concerning that two premises failed to comply with legislation designed to protect young people from well-documented health risks.
