The event, due to take place at Hemsby seafront this evening, was called off due to "current conditions". The Great Yarmouth event is still expected to go ahead tomorrow. A spokesman for GO Great Yarmouth said: "Following an onsite risk assessment, it has been decided not to proceed with fireworks this evening in Hemsby due to current conditions. "The extreme dry conditions and the vast sand dunes means it is unsafe to continue with tonight's Hemsby display. Crews were called to a small fire on Britannia Pier earlier this afternoon, which was extinguished before arrival.
